What is Included In Health & LifeStyle Coaching?

Please visit this page prior to reading below. As a health and lifestyle coach, these are some of the most common and important issues I assist my clients to address in their quest for greater health and vitality and happiness:

Stress Management

If the amount of stress in your life is interfering with health goals and good quality of life, we can focus on better stress management. This may include improved planning and organization, time-management, problem solving, assertive communication, relaxation, self-awareness, and mindfulness.

Overeating and Addiction

Feeling and acting out of control around food or any other substance gets in the way of your health and wellness goals. Helping you identify situations, substances and people in your life that you feel powerless over, is one step towards regaining your sanity. Developing an action plan can work to free you from addictive cycles of behavior - and allow you to focus on your health.

Body Image, Self-Image & Self-Esteem

When your self-image is damaged, you lack the self-esteem needed to follow through on changes. Working with me on self-acceptance, improving body image, self-image and self-esteem greatly enhances your ability to follow through on your health and lifestyle plan. When you believe you are worth it, you act that way too.

Helping to develop a realistic view of yourself and your body frees you up to accept yourself without judgment or shame.

Self-Care

I do not believe we can reach our full potential in anything without practicing good self-care. If you struggle with this, expect the mastery of self-care to be an essential part of your coaching. For some it is the major part of our coaching agenda. Self-care involves finding balance and developing what it takes to make self-care a regular part of your life.

Support Networks and Relationships

Do you avoid asking for help and support? Reaching out to others is difficult, but it is essential to lasting success with any health or lifestyle change. I will help you identify what you need and set up a support network that will assist you in reaching y our health goals.

Pain Management

If pain is one of the obstacles preventing you from implementing lifestyle changes, we will address this. Aappropriate medical and alternative health referrals can help you take control of your pain and recude its impact on your health and quality of life.

Sleep, Rest and Relaxation

Is you stress or exhaustion a result of poor sleep habits? Insufficient and poor-quality sleep greatly affects your health and lifestyle habits. Supporting you to address insomnia, sleep apnea, difficulty tolerating continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), and other sleep issues will improve your chances of getting the rest you need. In addition learning how to rest and when to rest, as well as how to relax is critical to managing your health.

Crises, Losses and Life Transitions

Are you in the midst of a crisis or change? Have you lost a loved on? Have you become a mother for the first time? Health and Lifestyle factors are often ignored during times like this, as we go into survival mode. Many times, our survival mode (addiction, overworking, stress) is actually detrimental to our health.

Let me help you negotiate these changes in a way that does not destroy or compromise your healthy lifestyle choices.

Fear, Worry and Anger

Anxiety, depression and trauma that has not been worked through diminish the quality of your life. Anxiety and depression untreated will interfere with your overall well-being.

I will work with you to identify the types of solutions that fit you best. For some, that means exploring past relationships and experiences; for others it may include identifying and addressing the way our current thought and/or behavior patterns influence us. For all, the importance is on helping you to move forward and live a positive and fulfilling life. I also provide referrals for medications and help you find additional resources as needed.

Happiness and Self-Awareness

Making healthy lifestyle changes means more than just exercise and healthy eating. It involves becoming aware of thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations, and how these impact our well-being.

It also involves day-to-day choices about what makes you feel good and what fulfills you. It has to do with living your values and your vision. Being in alignment with your life purpose. We are so much more in control of our happiness than we think.
